Parents are invited and encouraged to participate in parent teacher conferences (both before the school year starts and throughout the entire year), attend family nights, contact their child’s teacher directly with concerns, etc. Classroom teachers provide information at conferences and our Family Night about how students are assessed, standards, assessments that happen and how their child is progressing. Parents are given the opportunity to ask questions on the topics referenced and are given ideas/strategies on how to support their child at home. At family nights, information is shared about how we incorporate literacy and math into activities, how to bridge that connection of the content from school to home as well parents are provided access to our school Title 1 handout.
During School2Home strategies are modeled and practiced so parents can continue literacy and math learning at home with their children.
Parents/guardians are encouraged to observe Title I interventions, as well as classroom universal instruction.
Parent/guardian meetings occur as needed
Informational materials are shared with parents at conferences (both before school and throughout the school year) and explained to parents as questions arise.
At family nights, information is often embedded in how they can continue an activity at home, how information is taught/shared at school, etc.
